1. Preparing the Operating Theatre
Before any surgery, it’s your job to get the OT ready. This includes:
- Setting up surgical tools and trays
- Checking lights, monitors, and anesthesia machines
- Ensuring the room is sterilized and free of infection risks
2. Standing by the Surgical Team
While the surgery is going on, you're right there, working hand in hand with the doctors and nurses to keep things smooth.
- Passing instruments to surgeons
- Monitoring equipment readings
- Handling emergency supplies quickly
- Keeping the OT clean during the procedure
3. Sterilizing Equipment
After each operation, every instrument and surface must be sterilized. You are trained to:
- Clean and pack tools properly
- Operate autoclave machines
- Maintain records of sterilization cycles
4. Patient Handling and Positioning
Before the surgery begins, the patient must be safely moved and placed on the operating table. As a technician, you:
- Assist in lifting and shifting patients
- Position them correctly based on the surgery type
- Ensure comfort and safety with belts and supports
5. Managing Stock and Supplies
An OT technician also keeps track of supplies like gloves, drapes, syringes, sutures, etc. You will:
- Check inventory levels
- Refill stock
- Report any shortage to the nursing staff
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
