Summary:
As a Test Automation Engineer, a typical day involves designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to ensure high-quality software delivery across financial and trading platforms. The role focuses on leading automation initiatives, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks, and executing functional, regression, integration, UAT, and performance testing. Working closely with Product Management, Development, and Business teams, the engineer drives quality throughout the software development lifecycle while leveraging automation best practices to deliver reliable and scalable software solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify process improvements and implement automation best practices.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and technical development.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment and timely delivery of quality objectives.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases and regression suites using the organization's automation framework.
- Lead functional, regression, UAT, and performance testing activities across financial and trading applications.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Development, and Business teams to create automation strategies based on business requirements.
- Report, track,
and manage software defects and testing activities throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Contribute to release management activities, including validation of application releases and setting support.
- Promote QA standards, automation best practices, and continuous quality improvements across the team.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Must To Have Skills:
- Proficiency in Playwright, Investment Banking, VeriFix, FIX Protocol, Jira, and Test Case Management tools.
- Strong experience in designing, developing, and implementing automated test scripts using Playwright and VeriFix.
- Extensive knowledge of FIX Protocol and experience working with FIX-based trading applications.
- Strong understanding of automation testing frameworks, regression automation, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and executing automated test cases based on business and functional requirements.
- Experience converting manual regression test cases into automated test scripts.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and Quality Assurance processes.
- Ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot defects, and provide automation solutions.
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira and Test Case Management tools.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, investment banking, and trading platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Good To Have Skills:
- Experience with HP UFT.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), performance testing, and regression testing.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivatives products.
- Experience supporting release management and application version upgrades.
- Experience working in fast-paced financial market environments.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in VeriFix, FIX Protocol, Market Data, Playwright.
- This position is based at our Pune Magarpatta office, 2 days in a week.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
