The Manufacturing Unit Manager will be responsible for the overall management, planning, control, and smooth day-to-day operation of the manufacturing unit. The role requires strong leadership and coordination to ensure production targets are achieved efficiently while maintaining quality, stock accuracy, FIFO discipline, productivity, safety, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Control
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales requirements, stock levels, and production capacity.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of planned production.
- Allocate manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources effectively.
- Coordinate with purchase, stores, sales, and management teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Monitor production efficiency and identify reasons for production delays or shortages.
- Maintain proper production records and reports.
2. Daily Operations Management
- Take complete responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing unit.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all production activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of the production floor.
- Identify operational issues and take timely corrective action.
- Ensure proper coordination between production, quality, stores, maintenance, and dispatch teams.
- Monitor machine utilization, downtime, wastage, and overall productivity.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure that all products are manufactured according to defined quality standards.
- Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished-product quality.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control team to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Ensure proper handling of rejected, damaged, or non-conforming products.
- Maintain quality records and implement corrective and preventive actions where required.
- Ensure hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the production area.
4. Stock Control & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate control over raw materials, packing materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Monitor daily stock movements and reconcile physical stock with records.
- Ensure minimum and maximum stock levels are maintained.
- Identify slow-moving, non-moving, damaged, and excess stock.
- Coordinate with purchase and stores teams to avoid material shortages and excess inventory.
- Minimize material wastage and stock losses.
5. FIFO Management
- Strictly implement FIFO (First In, First Out) principles for raw materials, packing materials, and finished goods wherever applicable.
- Ensure proper batch-wise storage and identification of materials.
- Monitor manufacturing and expiry dates.
- Ensure older stock is utilized or dispatched before newer stock.
- Conduct regular physical verification of stock and report discrepancies immediately.
6. Staff & Manpower Management
- Manage and supervise all production and support staff.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities according to production requirements.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, productivity, and discipline.
- Train employees on production procedures, quality standards, safety, hygiene, and workplace discipline.
- Identify manpower requirements and recommend recruitment or replacement when necessary.
- Motivate the team and maintain a positive and productive working environment.
7. Production Cost & Wastage Control
- Monitor raw material consumption against standard requirements.
- Control production wastage, rejection, leakage, damage, and rework.
- Identify opportunities to reduce production costs without compromising quality.
- Monitor productivity and cost per unit wherever applicable.
- Prepare reports on major production losses and corrective actions.
8. Maintenance & Machine Management
- Ensure production machinery and equipment are properly maintained.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the maintenance team.
- Monitor machine downtime and take action to minimize production interruptions.
- Ensure machinery is operated safely and correctly.
- Report major maintenance requirements to management.
9. Safety, Hygiene & Compliance
- Ensure all employees follow workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Ensure employees use required safety equipment and follow operating procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation and records required for internal and statutory compliance.
- Immediately report accidents, safety issues, or major operational risks to management.
10. Reporting & Management Coordination
- Prepare daily production and operational reports.
- Report production quantity, target achievement, wastage, rejection, stock position, manpower, downtime, and other key operational information.
- Provide management with regular updates on production performance.
- Highlight operational problems and recommend practical solutions.
- Maintain proper documentation of production and inventory activities.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
