Job Summary

The Special Educator at Nahla Centre for Child Development is responsible for assessing the educational and developmental needs of children and planning and implementing individualized intervention programs. The role focuses on improving academic, cognitive, communication, social, behavioural, adaptive, and functional skills while supporting each child to achieve maximum independence and participation.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct developmental, educational, functional, and learning assessments for children.
- Identify the child's strengths, challenges, learning needs, and areas requiring intervention.
- Develop and implement individualized education and intervention plans based on assessment findings and therapeutic goals.
- Provide one-to-one and group-based special education sessions as required.
- Support children with conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Developmental Delay, and other developmental or educational needs.
- Work on improving academic readiness, literacy, numeracy, attention, concentration, memory, reasoning, problem-solving, and cognitive skills.
- Develop individualized teaching strategies and use appropriate learning materials based on each child's abilities and needs.
- Provide intervention to improve social skills, communication, behaviour, daily living skills, and functional independence.
- Monitor and document the child's progress regularly and modify intervention plans when required.




- Conduct periodic reassessments and prepare assessment and progress reports.
- Maintain accurate session notes, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), progress records, and other required documentation.
- Guide and educate parents and caregivers regarding home programs and strategies to support the child's learning and development.
- Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Behaviour Therapists, Psychologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate actively in case discussions, multidisciplinary meetings, parent meetings, and treatment planning.
- Coordinate with schools and teachers, when required, to support the child's educational and developmental needs.
- Prepare appropriate educational materials, activities, worksheets, and therapeutic resources.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, structured, and child-friendly learning environment.
- Follow the policies, procedures, ethical standards, and professional guidelines of Nahla CCD.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information and family details.
- Participate in awareness programs, camps, workshops, parent training sessions, and other activities organized by Nahla CCD.
- Submit reports and documentation within the required time frame and attend departmental and staff meetings.

Qualifications





- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education from a recognized institution.
- B.Ed. or M.Ed. in Special Education is preferred.
- RCI registration or other relevant professional registration, where applicable, is preferred.
- Experience working with children with developmental, behavioural, learning, or educational challenges is an advantage.
- Freshers with appropriate qualifications, strong clinical knowledge, and an interest in child development may also be considered.

Reporting

The Special Educator will report to the Head of Department/Clinical Coordinator and Management of Nahla Centre for Child Development and will be expected to perform duties in accordance with organizational policies, clinical protocols, and professional standards.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹34,261.58 per month
