Sales and Marketing Executive — Sansel Products

Assumptions: written for Sansel Instruments and Controls, Chennai; product sales (temperature sensors, thermocouples, RTDs, calibrators and measuring/controlling instruments); 1–2 years experience, reporting to the Sales Head. Position Title: Sales and Marketing Executive
Department: Sales and Marketing
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu (with travel across Tamil Nadu and South India)
Reports To: Sales Head / Managing Partner
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Instrumentation, EEE, ECE or Mechanical Engineering. MBA (Marketing) an advantage.
Experience: 1–2 years in industrial product sales, preferably temperature sensors, process instrumentation, or test & measurement equipment

Job Purpose

To grow sales of Sansel's range of temperature sensors, calibration instruments and process measuring and controlling instruments by identifying customers, understanding their application requirements, converting enquiries into orders, and maintaining long-term account relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Generation

- Identify and develop customers across process industries, OEMs, EPC contractors, panel builders, automotive, pharma, power, cement, chemical, and engineering units.
- Plan and execute field visits, cold calls, and scheduled customer meetings within the assigned territory.
- Maintain a live enquiry pipeline with follow-up status and expected closure dates.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for assigned products and territory.

2. Application and Technical Selling

- Understand the customer's process: medium, operating temperature and pressure, response time, mounting arrangement, and environment.
- Recommend the correct sensor type and construction — thermocouple type or RTD,



sheath material and diameter, insertion length, junction type, head, cable, and connection.
- Select and propose the right instrument model — indicators, controllers, transmitters, calibrators, and dry block/temperature calibration equipment.
- Prepare technical comparison sheets against competitor offerings when required.
- Coordinate with Design/Production for special or non-standard constructions before quoting.

3. Quotation and Order Processing

- Prepare quotations with correct specification, part description, price, delivery, and commercial terms.
- Follow up on quotations, negotiate within approved discount limits, and close orders.
- Carry out order review: verify PO specification, quantity, price, delivery, GST details, and terms against the quotation before releasing to Production.
- Raise clarifications with the customer for any incomplete or conflicting requirement in writing.
- Coordinate with Production and Stores for delivery commitments and dispatch documentation.

4. Tenders and Registrations

- Track and respond to tenders and RFQs on GeM, IREPS, and customer portals.
- Compile technical and commercial bid documents, compliance statements, and required certificates.
- Complete and maintain vendor registration and approved-vendor-list entries with major customers.

5. Customer Relationship and After-Sales

- Maintain a customer master with purchase history and repeat-order cycles.
- Handle delivery status enquiries,



payment follow-up, and outstanding collection.
- Receive product complaints, record them, and route them to Quality for corrective action; communicate the outcome to the customer.
- Coordinate replacement, repair, and recalibration requirements with the concerned department.
- Cross-sell calibration services offered by Sansel Calibration Laboratories LLP where the customer requirement suits.

6. Marketing Communication

- Prepare and update product catalogues, datasheets, presentations, and mailer content in coordination with the technical team.
- Maintain website content, LinkedIn, and IndiaMART/TradeIndia listings; respond to online enquiries within the same working day.
- Organise and attend exhibitions, vendor meets, and customer technical presentations.
- Ensure all published specifications match the current approved product datasheets.

7. Reporting

- Submit daily visit reports and a monthly enquiry, order, revenue, and lost-order analysis.
- Report market intelligence on competitor products, pricing, delivery, and new application demand.
- Provide inputs to management on product gaps and customer-driven development opportunities.

Skills and Competencies

- Understanding of temperature measurement fundamentals — thermocouple and RTD types, ranges, tolerance classes, and sheath materials
- Ability to read P&IDs;, instrument datasheets, GA drawings, and customer specification sheets
- Confident negotiation and closing ability
- Explicit written and spoken English and Tamil; Hindi/Telugu an advantage
- MS Office, quotation preparation, CRM/ERP (Tally or equivalent) data entry
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
