How you'll make an impact
Responsibilities:
Primarily focused on conducting financial, compliance and operational audits of divisions, branches, departments and functions to determine the adequacy of controls, the degree of compliance with established policies and procedures, and the effectiveness and efficiency of the area under review.
Work with the audit team to implement suggested process improvements to improve department and individual performance. Responsibilities include:
- Performing audit engagements of financial, compliance, and operational processes and controls, identifying control concerns, opportunities for improvement and best practices, contributing to ongoing process improvement opportunities within the department.
- Essential duties include; preparing workpapers, computations and statistical reports to ensure compliance with established control procedures and identify potential issues that need attention, maintaining documentation of audit engagements by establishing supportable and logically indexed workpapers, draft deficiencies and recommendations and present Potential Audit Findings to audit client management, implement quality control initiatives within the department, and perform remediation follow up to monitor adequacy and timely completion of remediation plans.
- Applies audit experience to resolve basic audit elements and uses sound judgment and creativity when working with others to formulate practical recommendations in response to control concerns and opportunities for improvement.
About you
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience required, preferably in public accounting, internal audit, or directly applicable industry experience.
- Basic understanding of internal auditing standards, COSO, and risk assessment practices.
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Progress towards attainment of a professional certification (CPA or CIA).
- Willingness to maintain knowledge of current accounting and auditing practices through continuing professional education.
