F&B; Service GSA — Job Description

GSA means Guest Service Associate. In Food & Beverage service, the GSA is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and professional service to guests in restaurants, cafés, banquets, or other hotel F&B; outlets.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcome and greet guests warmly.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Explain menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve food and beverages according to hotel standards.
- Set up and clear tables before and after service.
- Ensure proper table setting, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely service.
- Check guest satisfaction during the meal.
- Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
- Process bills and payments accurately when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and hotel SOPs.
- Assist with buffet, banquet, room-service, or other F&B; operations as assigned.
- Support colleagues and maintain valuable teamwork during busy periods.

Skills & Qualifications

- 10th/12th pass or diploma in Hotel Management/F&B; is preferred.




- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Pleasant personality and positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Ability to work under pressure and in shifts.
- Good grooming and personal hygiene.
- Customer-service oriented.
- Basic English communication; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Previous hotel/restaurant experience is preferred but freshers can also apply.

Typical Duties During a Shift

Before service: Prepare tables, check cutlery/glassware, arrange the station, and review menus/specials.

During service: Greet guests → take orders → serve food/beverages → monitor guest needs → clear tables → coordinate with kitchen/bar.

After service: Clear and clean tables, replenish supplies, clean the service station, and assist with closing duties.
