Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Accounts Executive to manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, ensure statutory compliance, and support the finance team in the smooth execution of accounting and financial processes.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Record daily financial transactions in the accounting software.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and perform regular ledger reconciliations.
- Pass journal, payment, receipt, and contra entries.
- Maintain petty cash records and monitor bank transactions.
- Ensure proper documentation and accounting of all financial activities.
2. Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Process vendor invoices after verifying supporting documents and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Ensure timely payments against valid invoices and authorized documentation.
- Maintain and reconcile vendor ledgers on a periodic basis.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain pending invoices, supporting documents, and account confirmations.
3. Accounts Receivable
- Track student fee collections and record payment receipts accurately.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate with relevant teams for timely follow-up.
- Reconcile student payment records with internal systems.
- Maintain accurate records of pending dues, collections, and adjustments.
4. Bank Reconciliation & Payment Management
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Verify online payment transactions and reconcile payment gateway settlements.
- Track refunds,
transaction reversals, and other payment adjustments.
- Resolve discrepancies in banking and payment records promptly.
5. Compliance & Taxation
- Assist in GST compliance by verifying invoices and preparing GST-related data.
- Prepare data for TDS deductions and support monthly statutory compliance.
- Maintain documentation required for statutory audits and tax filings.
- Coordinate the issuance of Form 16, vendor TDS certificates, and other statutory documents.
6. MIS & Financial Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Maintain branch-wise and department-wise expense reports.
- Support budgeting, cost monitoring, and expense tracking activities.
- Generate management reports and financial analyses as required.
7. Documentation & Audit Support
- Maintain organized accounting records and proper filing of financial documents.
- Provide necessary documents and information during internal and statutory audits.
- Ensure all invoices, payment records, and supporting documents are securely stored and easily retrievable.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (such as Tally ERP/Tally Prime, Zoho Books, or similar).
- Good analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.
Experience in the education sector will be an added advantage.
