About the Role

Kera Fine is looking for an experienced R&D; Formulation Chemist to join our product development team. The ideal candidate will have robust hands-on experience in cosmetic and hair-care formulation, with the ability to develop, improve, test, and scale up professional hair-care products.

The candidate will be responsible for taking formulations from concept and laboratory trials through stability testing, optimization, and production scale-up.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimize formulations for shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, hair serums, hair treatments and other hair-care products.
- Conduct laboratory trials and prepare formulation samples.
- Select and evaluate suitable raw materials, active ingredients, surfactants, emulsifiers, preservatives, polymers and conditioning agents.
- Troubleshoot formulation issues related to pH, viscosity, stability, separation, texture, fragrance and product performance.
- Conduct and monitor stability, compatibility and performance testing.
- Improve existing formulations based on product performance, consumer requirements and market trends.
- Work closely with the production team for laboratory-to-commercial scale-up.
- Prepare and maintain formulation records, specifications, SOPs, trial reports and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with raw-material suppliers and evaluate new ingredients.
- Support the development of innovative and commercially viable hair-care products.
- Ensure formulations comply with applicable quality,



safety and cosmetic regulatory requirements.
- Work with QC, Production, Packaging and other teams during product development and launch.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Cosmetic / Personal Care / Hair Care R&D; and formulation.
- M.Sc. Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong practical knowledge of hair-care formulation and cosmetic ingredients.
- Experience in developing and troubleshooting cosmetic formulations.
- Experience with stability testing and scale-up is highly preferred.
- Good understanding of cosmetic raw materials and their functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Ability to independently conduct laboratory trials and develop formulations.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with hands-on experience in professional hair-care products, keratin treatments, hair masks, conditioners, shampoos, serums, anti-frizz treatments or similar cosmetic products will be preferred.

This is an R&D; formulation role, not primarily a QC/testing role. Candidates must have practical experience in developing and optimizing cosmetic or hair-care formulations.
