Job Summary:
The Speech Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. The role involves working with patients of all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, often in coordination with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessment and evaluation of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide therapy for conditions such as:
- Speech delay and articulation disorders
- Stammering (stuttering)
- Voice disorders
- Aphasia and neurological speech disorders
- Dysphagia (swallowing disorders)
- Work with patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, or surgery.
- Use appropriate therapeutic techniques, exercises, and assistive devices.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain detailed patient records, reports, and documentation.
- Educate patients and family members about therapy techniques and home care.
- Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and nursing staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Therapy / Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP / MASLP).
- Registration with relevant professional body (if applicable as per state norms).
Experience:
- 0–2 years (for junior role)
- 2–5 years (preferred in hospital/clinical setup)

- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills

- Patience and empathy while dealing with patients
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Positive documentation and reporting skills
Working Conditions:
- Hospital-based clinical environment
- May involve working in ICU, OPD, wards, and rehabilitation units
- Interaction with patients across all age groups
Additional Responsibilities (if required):
- Conduct speech and hearing screening camps
- Train caregivers and junior staff
- Assist in research and clinical audits
- Participate in awareness programs
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
