We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Senior PHP Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate has extensive experience building, maintaining, and improving web applications using PHP and related technologies.

The Senior PHP Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, secure, and high-performing applications. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other developers and stakeholders.

This is a full-time position open to candidates based in Kolkata India.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality web applications using PHP.
- Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code.
- Develop new features and functionality based on business and technical requirements.
- Maintain and enhance existing PHP applications and systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application issues and technical problems.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Design and work with relational databases and write efficient SQL queries.
- Develop and integrate APIs and third-party services.
- Work with frontend developers and other technical team members to integrate backend functionality.
- Participate in application architecture and technical design decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, code quality, and development processes.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests where applicable.
- Implement appropriate security practices to protect applications and data.




- Manage version control using Git or comparable systems.
- Participate in debugging, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
- Document technical solutions, system architecture, processes, and development procedures.
- Stay current with PHP development standards, frameworks, libraries, security practices, and emerging technologies.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers when needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, QA personnel, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and according to requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 to 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development or equivalent senior-level experience.
- Robust proficiency in PHP.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software development principles.
- Experience with one or more PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or comparable frameworks.
- Strong experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database design.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of Git and version control workflows.
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.




- Experience with debugging, testing, performance optimization, and application maintenance.
- Strong understanding of web application security best practices.
- Ability to read, understand, and work with existing codebases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
- Ability to mentor less experienced developers and contribute to technical decision-making.
