Job Description – Network Technician (Mid-Level)

Role: Network Technician – Structured Cabling & Passive Networking

Key Responsibilities

- Installation, laying, dressing, routing, and patching of CAT6/CAT6A copper cables.
- Installation and routing of Fiber Optic cables – 24 Core & 48 Core.
- Perform I/O termination, punching, and patch panel dressing.
- Carry out precision fiber splicing as per project requirements.
- Perform testing and certification of copper and fiber networks using Fluke testers.
- Troubleshoot basic structured cabling and passive networking issues.
- Ensure proper cable labeling, dressing, routing, and documentation.
- Read and understand basic cable layouts, drawings, and site requirements.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians for site execution.
- Manage tools, materials, and equipment required for daily site activities.
- Lead or independently handle basic on-site execution activities.
- Ensure all installation work complies with project quality and safety standards.
- Follow MIAL/Airport security, safety, and access requirements at all times.

Technical Skills Required

- Strong hands-on experience in IT Structured Cabling.
- Good knowledge of CAT6/CAT6A cabling.
- Experience with Fiber Optic cabling – 24 Core & 48 Core.
- Knowledge of I/O termination, punching, and patch panel dressing.
- Hands-on experience in Fiber Splicing.
- Experience with Fluke testing and certification for:
- Copper networks
- Fiber networks
- Understanding of Passive Networking Infrastructure.
- Ability to identify and resolve basic cabling and connectivity issues.
- Ability to work independently and guide helpers/junior technicians on site.





Operational Working Conditions

Candidates must be comfortable working across:

- MIAL Terminal 1 (T1)
- MIAL Terminal 2 (T2)
- Cargo Areas – International & Domestic
- Airside / Runway Zones

The role involves working in both indoor terminal areas and open-to-sky outdoor environments, including active airfield zones subject to airport safety and security protocols.

Candidates should be prepared for:

- Cable pulling through underground ducts and chambers.
- Working in ducts/chambers that may contain water, particularly during the rainy season.
- Heavy manual work, including loading/unloading equipment and pulling thick cable bundles.
- Working in varying weather conditions.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, and physical site activity.
- Strict compliance with airport security and safety procedures.

Airport Access & Eligibility

- Candidates must be able to provide all necessary documents required for Airport Entry Pass / Access authorization.
- Candidates should be eligible to undergo the required airport security verification.
- Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Mumbai, due to project deployment and airport access requirements.
- Candidates must be willing to work across different MIAL airport zones as required.

Qualification & Experience

- ITI / Diploma / equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- 2–3+ years of relevant experience in structured cabling, networking, fiber optic installation, or passive networking.
- Candidates with proven hands-on project/site experience will be preferred.
