# VMC Operator – Job Description A VMC Operator is responsible for operating and setting up Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines to manufacture precision components as per engineering drawings and required specifications. The role includes loading and unloading components, setting work offsets and tool offsets, selecting and changing cutting tools, entering and adjusting CNC programs, and operating the machine safely and efficiently. The operator is responsible for checking component dimensions using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges, and ensuring the components meet quality standards. The job also involves basic machine troubleshooting, tool wear monitoring, coolant management, maintaining proper housekeeping,



following safety procedures, and reporting any machine or quality issues to the supervisor. The candidate should have knowledge of CNC/VMC machining operations, engineering drawings, basic GD&T;, cutting tools, measuring instruments, and CNC machine controls, with the ability to achieve production targets while maintaining required quality and accuracy.
