Job Description – Solar Design Engineer / Executive

Position: Solar Design Engineer / Solar Design Executive

Job Responsibilities

- Design and prepare Rooftop and Ground-Mounted Solar PV systems.
- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layout drawings, string layouts and electrical drawings.
- Prepare detailed Solar PV system designs based on site conditions, capacity and client requirements.
- Perform shadow analysis, module layout and string configuration.
- Prepare DC and AC cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations and equipment selection.
- Design and select Inverter, ACDB, DCDB, LT Panel, HT equipment, cables, SPD, earthing and protection systems.
- Prepare BOQ, BOM and material requirement based on approved designs.
- Coordinate with the Project, Purchase and Site Execution teams for design implementation.
- Review site survey data, roof measurements and structural/electrical requirements.
- Prepare as-built drawings and update drawings based on site changes.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants and DISCOM/CEI-related requirements wherever required.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IS/IEC standards, CEA/DISCOM requirements and project specifications.
- Support the project team in resolving technical issues during installation and commissioning.
- Maintain proper documentation of drawings,



calculations and design revisions.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of Solar PV system design and electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Knowledge of PVsyst and solar simulation is preferred.
- Knowledge of SketchUp / Helioscope / similar solar design software will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of LT/HT electrical systems, earthing, lightning protection and protection devices.
- Ability to read and prepare SLD, electrical layouts and technical drawings.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive coordination and communication skills.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Solar EPC / Solar Design preferred.
- Freshers with strong technical knowledge may also be considered.

- Timely preparation of BOQ/BOM and drawings.
- Coordination with Project and Site teams.
- Minimum design errors and revisions.
