Job Title: PYP Teacher / PYP Homeroom Teacher

Job Purpose

The PYP Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, inquiry-based and student-centred learning experiences aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. The teacher will support the academic, social, emotional and personal development of students while fostering curiosity, independence, international-mindedness and lifelong learning.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning

- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework.
- Facilitate inquiry-based, concept-driven and transdisciplinary learning.
- Develop and implement Units of Inquiry in collaboration with the PYP Coordinator and teaching team.
- Encourage student agency, voice, choice and ownership of learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Create a safe, inclusive, positive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Integrate appropriate technology and learning resources into teaching and learning.
- Foster the attributes of the IB Learner Profile and international-mindedness.

Curriculum Planning

- Collaboratively plan, implement and review the Programme of Inquiry.
- Develop learning engagements connected to key concepts, Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and subject-specific learning outcomes.
- Ensure meaningful connections between and across subject areas.
- Maintain appropriate curriculum documentation and lesson plans.





Assessment and Reporting

- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and development.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Prepare student reports and participate in parent-teacher meetings and student-led conferences.
- Use assessment information to inform future teaching and learning.

Student Wellbeing and Classroom Management

- Support the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of every student.
- Establish positive behaviour expectations and maintain effective classroom management.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or pastoral support and collaborate with relevant school personnel.
- Promote respect, responsibility, empathy and positive relationships within the classroom.

Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with PYP teachers, specialist teachers, learning support staff and the PYP Coordinator.
- Participate actively in collaborative planning meetings and professional learning communities.
- Contribute to school events, assemblies, exhibitions and co-curricular activities.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student progress and wellbeing.

Professional Development

- Stay updated with developments in IB education and PYP pedagogy.




- Participate in IB workshops, training programmes and professional development activities.
- Reflect on teaching practices and actively contribute to continuous improvement.
- Support and uphold the school's mission, vision, values and policies.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification is preferred.
- IB PYP experience or IB professional development certification is preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB school environment.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based, concept-driven and student-centred learning.

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
