Position Title
Valuation Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle and Machinery Valuator to assess the value and condition of vehicles, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and other mechanical assets. The successful candidate will conduct physical inspections, analyze market data, determine fair market values, and prepare accurate valuation reports for clients, financial institutions, insurance companies, or internal business purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and evaluate vehicles, heavy machinery, construction equipment, and industrial machines.
- Assess the age, condition, specifications, usage, maintenance history, and remaining useful life of assets.
- Determine market value, fair value, replacement value, and/or liquidation value as required.
- Research current market prices, comparable sales, auction results, and industry trends.
- Verify vehicle and machinery identification, model, serial numbers, registration details, and specifications.
- Identify damage, defects, depreciation, modifications, and other factors affecting asset value.
- Prepare detailed and professional valuation reports with photographs and supporting evidence.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, calculations, market research, and valuation conclusions.
- Communicate valuation findings clearly to clients and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to workshops, yards, construction sites, factories, dealerships, and other locations when required.
- Keep up to date with changes in vehicle, machinery, and equipment markets.
- Ensure valuations are conducted in accordance with applicable company procedures and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10th Pass
- Relevant experience in vehicle appraisal, machinery valuation, equipment inspection, automotive, engineering, insurance, banking,
or asset management.
- Good knowledge of different types of vehicles, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and industrial machinery.
- Strong understanding of depreciation and factors affecting the value of mechanical assets.
- Ability to conduct market research and analyze comparable assets.
- Good numerical, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Willingness to travel for physical inspections.
Preferred Skills
- Experience valuing cars, commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, earthmoving equipment, cranes, generators, industrial machinery, and production equipment.
- Knowledge of auction and resale markets.
- Familiarity with insurance, finance, banking, or asset-recovery valuation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and professional judgment.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Valid driving license is an advantage.

- Reliability of market research and valuation calculations.

Working Conditions
The role may involve both office-based valuation analysis and field inspections. The Valuator may be required to travel to client premises, workshops, dealerships, warehouses, construction sites, auction yards, and industrial facilities.
