The Content Writer will support the CEPAA team by creating high-quality written content for internal and external audiences. This includes writing for social media, website, newsletters, campaign materials, and patient education resources. The ideal candidate has strong writing skills, a passion for social impact, and experience working in nonprofit, development, or healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Development & Execution
- Develop and create engaging, high-quality content for various platforms including blogs, newsletters,
- articles, reports, brochures, website, and donor communication.
- Write compelling narratives, success stories, and case studies that highlight the impact of CanKids work in pediatric cancer care.
- Manage content strategy and execution across campaigns, digital media, and printed materials.
Social Media & Digital Presence
- Create and schedule content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) to support engagement, awareness, and campaigns.
- Utilize knowledge of social media management, marketing, and monetization to grow the organizations online presence.
- Use Meta professional tools, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Tag Manager to track, optimize, and report digital content performance.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal departments, program teams, and external partners to align content with organizational objectives and project timelines.
- Support communication needs for events, workshops, fundraising drives, and stakeholder engagements.
- Visual & Document Design
- Use Canva, PowerPoint,
and MS Word to create impactful visual presentations and documents for internal and external communication.
- Ensure all materials follow the brand guidelines and present content in a professional, appealing format.
Research, Analytics & Reporting
- Conduct research and interviews to create factually accurate and meaningful content.
- Use MS Excel for data tracking, content analysis, reporting, and planning.
- Monitor content performance and adjust strategies to improve reach and impact.
Additional Capabilities
- Strong content writing and editing skills with attention to tone, grammar, and style.
- Preferred experience in PR, communications, and marketing within the development or nonprofit sector.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high content standards.
Other Extended Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the GM CEPAA or the CRMCO.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Social Work, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in content writing, preferably in the non-profit or healthcare sector
- Solid writing, editing, and storytelling skills in English
- Basic understanding of digital marketing and social media best practices
- Familiarity with SEO concepts, content strategy, and analytics tools is an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and content design tools like Canva
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines
- Interest or experience in child rights, public health, or development communication is desirable
