Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Scrub Nurse to join the Operation Theatre team. The candidate will be responsible for assisting surgeons and the OT team during surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques, ensuring availability of surgical instruments and consumables, and maintaining patient safety and OT standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the Operation Theatre before surgical procedures.
- Arrange and check surgical instruments, equipment, sutures, implants, and consumables.
- Perform scrub duties during surgical procedures and assist the surgeon as required.
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout the procedure.
- Perform surgical instrument, sponge, needle, and swab counts before, during, and after surgery.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and surgical team efficiently.
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of the sterile field.
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments.
- Coordinate with the circulating nurse, surgeons, anesthetists, and other OT staff.
- Monitor availability and functionality of OT equipment.
- Follow infection-control, biomedical waste management,



and patient-safety protocols.
- Assist in maintaining OT records, checklists, and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transfer of specimens collected during surgery.
- Participate in cleaning, disinfection, and turnover of the OT after procedures.
- Maintain adequate stock of surgical consumables and report shortages.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, NABH standards, and OT protocols.
- Support emergency and major surgical procedures when required.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of OT procedures and surgical asepsis.
- Good knowledge of surgical instruments and their applications.
- Ability to anticipate the surgeon's requirements during procedures.
- Strong infection-control practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and emergency duties.

Eligibility

- GNM / B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration.
- 5 years of relevant Operation Theatre experience preferred.
- Experience as a Scrub Nurse in a multispecialty/surgical hospital will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
