- Strengthen laboratory quality control systems to ensure compliance with metallurgical and casting standards.
- Provide technical inputs based on spectro, chemical, and microstructure analysis to optimize metal composition and casting performance.
- Support process improvement initiatives to reduce casting rejection and enhance product quality.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure consistent process monitoring and quality assurance.
- Contribute to audit readiness by maintaining accurate laboratory records and supporting quality compliance initiatives.
- Conduct sand testing and monitor parameters to maintain moulding quality standards during shift.
- Perform furnace chemical testing and spectrometer analysis for molten metal composition.
- Carry out microstructure testing of cylinder blocks and prepare inspection reports.
- Monitor and analyze rejection of cylinder blocks to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
- Check and verify pouring temperature during casting operations.
- Verify raw material test certificates and ensure proper inspection during material receipt.
- Monitor weighment of raw materials (MS, Pig Iron, Carbon, etc.) during inward processing.
- Inspect pouring and chipping areas to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Prepare and submit spectro chemical analysis reports to management.
- Prepare and submit daily pouring production reports to the Moulding Incharge.
- Maintain proper laboratory documentation and test records.
- Ensure timely calibration of laboratory instruments as per defined frequency.
- Coordinate with vendors for repair and maintenance (R&M;) of laboratory equipment.
- Attend daily production meetings to review quality and process parameters.
- Handle laboratory manpower and allocate tasks for testing and inspection activities. Support internal and external audits by maintaining required laboratory records and documentation.
· Educational:
- Diploma / Bachelor in metallurgy, mechanical engineering, material science, or related field.
- Additional certification or training in foundry technology, metallurgical testing will be an added advantage.
· Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in laboratory or metallurgical testing in foundry / casting / automotive component manufacturing industry.
- Practical exposure to spectrometer analysis, sand testing, microstructure testing, and raw material inspection.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
