Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Accounting professional to manage client and insurer receivables, cash application, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. The role requires maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with UK insurance accounting regulations, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Process and accurately allocate incoming cash receipts across client and insurer accounts.
- Manage collections activities and proactively follow up on outstanding balances with insurers and clients.
- Perform insurer statement reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare, review, and maintain bordereaux reports with a high degree of accuracy.
- Calculate and monitor client money positions in accordance with UK regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Broker Trust Account regulations, Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA) accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across accounting systems.
- Collaborate with underwriting, operations, finance teams, insurers,



and clients to resolve accounting and operational issues.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and controls.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Monitor, track, and consistently achieve established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Experience in insurance accounting, client money management, accounts receivable, or financial operations.
- Strong understanding of UK insurance market practices, bordereaux reporting, client money regulations, and IBA accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of FCA client money regulations and broker trust accounting is an advantage.
