The Head will oversee the handling and management of product samples, maintain inventory of sample materials, and ensure the timely organization and delivery of samples. This role involves collaboration with Merchandising and production teams, tracking sample requests, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with timelines. Attentive coordination and communication are crucial to meet client expectations and support smooth production processes.Qualifications2-5 years of experience in sample development, product development,



or merchandising within the knitwear or apparel manufacturing industryDeep understanding of the end-to-end sample development process — proto, fit, size set, PP, and shipment samples — with hands-on experience managing T&A; calendars and buyer approval cycles.Strong knowledge of knitted fabric constructions, yarn counts, GSM, and garment construction techniques relevant to knitwear, inner garments, and lifestyle apparel.Ability to read and interpret tech packs, BOM sheets, size specs, and buyer comments accurately, and translate them into clear instructions for the sample room team.Experience managing multiple styles and buyers simultaneously — prioritising the sample line to ensure development is never the bottleneck in the production pipeline.Familiarity with buyer quality standards and social compliance requirements, including audit-readiness practices relevant to certifications such as SEDEX, WRAP, BCI, and Disney FAMA.Proficiency in coordinating with internal teams — merchandising, CAD, pattern, stores, and QA — as well as external buyer offices and sourcing agents.Working knowledge of ERP systems for sample tracking, T&A; monitoring, and MIS reporting.Strong communication skills in Tamil and English; ability to liaise professionally with buyer offices and internal teams alike.Any graduation; a degree or diploma in Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, Textile Design, or Merchandising is an added advantage.
