Summary
GlobalFoundries is seeking a talented and experienced Data Policy Analyst to establish and implement policies and standards across the data lifecycle management. The successful candidate will manage data classification, security controls, retention, and archival policies while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with legal, security, and compliance teams to develop and document data policies, standards, and best practices supporting regulatory requirements and GlobalFoundries strategic goals
- Advise internal teams on regulatory issues affecting organizational data, including changes or amendments to regulations
- Monitor data adherence to policies and standards, identifying areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry-specific regulations (e.g., ITAR, Global Trade Compliance)
- Create and manage data policies in a Data Governance tool (e.g., Collibra, Alation)
- Develop KPIs and metrics to monitor data policy effectiveness and compliance
- Draft communications regarding new or amended policies,
compliance updates, and implementation details
- Research and document policy interpretations for compliance clarity
- Update training materials for data policies and standards
- Promote a culture of data policy awareness and accountability across the organization
Other Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in data management platforms or tools, including data governance, cataloging, lineage, and privacy
- Define metadata standards and taxonomies to improve data classification and retrieval
- Collaborate with teams to classify data, maintain definitions, identify sensitive data, and support data sourcing/usage requests
- Address business requirements for data management and facilitate data issue resolution
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- 2-5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data policy analysis and management
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, IATF) and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ESG)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Qualified writing ability, including editing and proofreading
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of data governance, management, privacy, and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with data management tools and metadata repositories
- Experience in managing data policies, particularly in the semiconductor industry
- Ability to influence and work effectively across diverse organizational teams
