Key Responsibilities:
- Server Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and performance of Linux servers, ensuring their security and availability.
- System Administration: Handle system configurations, software installation, updates, and patch management on Linux servers.
- Security: Implement and maintain server security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency.
- Backup and Recovery: Set up, manage, and maintain server backups and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve server-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams when necessary.
- User Management: Administer user accounts, permissions, and access control systems on Linux servers.
- Compliance: Ensure server configurations and operational practices meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of server configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Automation:
Develop and implement automation scripts (Bash, Python) and tools to streamline routine server administration tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience as a Linux Server Administrator with expertise in managing Linux-based environments
- Proficiency in administering Linux servers, including CentOS, Ubuntu, or Red Hat distributions
- Strong knowledge of security practices and tools for server security
- Scripting skills in languages such as Bash or Python for automation tasks
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills
- Robust communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Certifications in Linux administration (e.g., Linux Professional Institute Certification, Red Hat Certified Engineer) are a plus
