Job Description (JD) – Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer

Location: Pune (Preferred)
Experience: Minimum 5 Years

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Scala, and Microservices-based application development. The ideal candidate should have experience working with Vertica databases, basic knowledge of Akka for Move Services, and exposure to ETL development using Apache Spark. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of analyzing and resolving customer-reported issues in production environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Scala, and Microservices architecture.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable, and performant backend services.
- Work with Vertica databases for data management, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Support and enhance Move Services with a basic understanding of the Akka framework.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Apache Spark.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer-reported issues in production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams,



including engineering, QA, and support teams.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and release activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Solid hands-on experience in Java and Scala.
- Experience designing and developing Microservices-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with Vertica Database.
- Basic knowledge of Akka and Move Services.
- Basic experience with Apache Spark and ETL processes.
- Exposure to customer issue analysis, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms is an added advantage.
