- Proven knowledge of WAN, LAN and MAN.
- Proven knowledge of DNS, IP, Firewalls, latency issues, WAN acceleration tools
- Routing and switching protocols including RIP.OSPF.BGP,EIGRP,STP,VTP
- Provide network technical accountability .
- Configure, monitor, and tune WAN/LAN network devices to optimize network performance and assure network security in a high availability workplace.
- Configure and manage Cisco Nexus / Catalyst switches, and ISR in a 1G/10G multi VLAN distributed network.
- Implement security policies through ACLs and MAC level restrictions in LAN and WAN environments.
- Network systems planning and diagramming Visio for documentation.
- Understanding of transport protocols, routing protocols, and security/authentication protocols at all layers of the OSI model with emphasis on TCP/IP are essential.
- Must have knowledge networking features and protocols such as EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, VTP, STP, Ether channel, 802.1Q trunking, HSRP, QoS, multicast, RADIUS/TACACS , SNMP, T-1/E-1 - T3/E3, Metro Ethernet, BRI/PRI, and MPLS.
