Why we need this role

We are seeking an experienced IP Engineer to manage the provisioning and configuration of IP services, including Internet Access, MPLS L3 IPVPN, SD-WAN (Versa), and Cloud-based solutions, in alignment with customer contracts. The role involves supporting global and customer-specific projects, contributing to new product development initiatives, and adhering to Engineering/TAC guidelines. The candidate will also be responsible for handling change requests and planned activities both during and outside business hours, for internal and external stakeholders. This position carries end-to-end accountability for IP service delivery, including configuration and activation across the COLT network, operating within a multi-vendor, multi-technology setting.

What you will do

- Configure and test IP services across Colt’s network, including Internet Access, IPVPN, cloud-based services, IQNet platforms and SD-WAN, ensuring delivery in line with customer contracts and agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage installation, activation, and end-to-end testing of IP services. Work extensively with core network technologies such as IP and MPLS protocols (OSPF, BGP), MPLS L3VPN/L2VPN, and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, VXLAN, overlays).
- Ensure KPI compliance with a target achievement of >98%.
- Maintain high-quality deliverables with a strong focus on accuracy and a target of zero errors.
- Perform real-time updates and closures in Order Handling Systems (Siebel) and workflow tools such as XTRAC.
- Proactively manage daily escalations and operational issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Deliver complex and bespoke customer solutions with precision and efficiency.
- Facilitate and lead regular stakeholder calls across regions (India, Europe, USA, and Asia).




- Independently drive Kaizen/CSI initiatives and improvement projects across functions and global service delivery teams.
- Manage complex customer projects independently, ensuring seamless execution throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What we're looking for

Skills & Experience

- ~ 5+ years of experience in provisioning and configuration of IP services, including Internet Access, , MPLS, SD-WAN and DCA for both standard and bespoke customer solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree (B. Tech/B.E.) in Electronics & Communication, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cisco CCNA certification is mandatory; CCNP certifications are desirable. Working knowledge equivalent to Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-ER) is preferred.
- Strong conceptual understanding of networking technologies across Cisco, Juniper, and SD-WAN platforms (e.g., Versa).
- Proven experience in configuring IP services such as Internet Access, IPVPN, and SD-WAN in accordance with customer contracts.
- Solid foundation with hands-on experience in networking technologies, including IP and MPLS protocols (BGP), MPLS L3VPN/L2VPN services, and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, VXLAN, overlays).
- Basic knowledge and practical exposure to SDWAN technologies.
- Experience supporting migration projects aligned with New Product Development and Engineering/TAC guidelines.
- Willingness to support planned works and change requests outside business hours for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Internet and MPLS configuration issues.
- Exposure to automation and future technologies, with knowledge of Python or other scripting languages to drive continuous process improvement in Service Delivery.
