Job Description:

Job Purpose

To ensure high availability, reliability, and accuracy of automation, instrumentation, and control systems in the FMCG factory by effective maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and continuous improvement, as well complying with safety, quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Automation & Control Systems

Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFDs, and Servo drives (Siemens / Allen Bradley / Schneider / Rockwell preferred).

Handle machine automation for filling, packing, labelling, cartoning, palletizing, conveyors, and utilities.

Support recent machine installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and upgrades.

Modify PLC logic and HMI screens for process improvement and downtime reduction.

2. Instrumentation & Calibration

Maintain and calibrate process instruments such as:

Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Level, Conductivity, pH, Load cells, Vision systems

Ensure traceability and compliance with calibration schedules and records.

Support audits related to ISO, GMP, SAHPRA , MHRA & FDA, etc.

3. Maintenance & Reliability

Execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of E&I; systems.

Analyze recurring failures, implement root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective actions.

Improve MTBF and MTTR of critical machines.





Maintain spares planning for E&I; components.

4. Utilities & Energy Monitoring

Support automation and instrumentation for utilities such as:

Boilers, Chillers, Compressors, HVAC, RO, ETP/STP

Monitor energy meters, water flow meters, and utility KPIs.

Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.

5. Safety, Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with electrical safety, machine safety, interlocks, and emergency systems.

Maintain E&I; drawings, loop diagrams, panel GA drawings, IO lists, and SOPs.

6. Continuous Improvement & Digitalization

Support OEE improvement, downtime analysis, and Kaizen projects.

7. Vendor & Team Coordination

Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, and service providers.

Support training of operators on automation and instrumentation aspects.

Qualifications

B.E / B.Tech – Electronics & Instrumentation / Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication

Certifications in PLC / Automation / Safety are an added advantage
