Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly proficient Excel user to join our team as a Payroll & Excel Analyst. This role will be responsible for analyzing payroll data, performing complex wage computations, and generating insightful reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll components, exceptional Excel skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly. This is a structured, number-driven role perfect for someone who enjoys working with data and building efficient Excel models.

Key Responsibilities

- Organize, validate, and analyze salary and payroll data using advanced Excel functions.
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets for accurate wage computations, salary comparisons, and statutory deductions (PF, ESI, bonus, gratuity).
- Automate calculations and minimize manual errors by effectively applying Excel formulas and logic.
- Prepare clear, concise summaries and reports for internal review and decision-making.
- Collaborate with team members to gather and verify payroll data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies in payroll data, following through to resolution.




- Respond promptly to internal data queries and translate complex numerical data into easily understandable language.

Qualifications

- Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of salary and payroll components (Basic Pay, HRA, allowances, deductions, PF, ESI, bonus, gratuity).
- Advanced Excel proficiency including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF/nested IF, SUMIF/COUNTIF, pivot tables, data sorting/filtering, and handling large datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with payroll processing or HR operations is a plus.

- Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CA Foundation/Inter cleared is advantageous.
