About the Role:
The person will be responsible for managing and optimizing AWS-hosted databases, ensuring high availability, performance, security, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, and production support. The role also involves automating database operations and working closely with DevOps and application teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and optimize AWS database environments including Amazon RDS and Aurora.
- Administer PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redshift databases across production and non-production systems.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of database systems.
- Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like CloudWatch and Datadog.
- Implement automation scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for database deployments and changes.
- Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, and application teams for seamless integration.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Ensure database security, compliance, and access control policies are enforced.
- Support incident management and production support activities.
- Document operational procedures, standards, and architecture guidelines.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of database administration experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of AWS ecosystem experience.
- Strong expertise in Amazon RDS and Aurora.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redshift.
- Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge.
- Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD integration.
- Database monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar.
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise.
Preferred Skills:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- FinOps and cost optimization practices.
- Containerized environments (ECS, EKS).
- Cloud-native database architecture experience.
- Automation and orchestration of database operations.
Working Model:
- 5 Days Work From Office
- Rotational Shifts: Shift 1: 06:00 AM – 03:00 PM IST, Shift 2: 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
- Cab facility provided for off-shift timings
- High-availability production support workplace
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering or equivalent
