About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily shop-floor operations in sheet metal fabrication for our client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure to sheet metal processes (cutting, bending, forming, welding, polishing) along with prior experience in the beverage industry (e.g., can/bottle manufacturing, stainless steel vessels, tanks, or beverage processing equipment).

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities on the shop floor to meet output and quality targets.

• Plan manpower, machine allocation, and material flow for sheet metal jobs (cutting, bending, punching, welding, polishing/finishing).

• Ensure adherence to production schedules and coordinate with planning/PPC for timely dispatch.

• Monitor quality standards, especially for stainless steel fabrication used in beverage-industry applications (tanks, vessels, piping, cans, etc.).

• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality norms relevant to beverage/food-grade stainless steel products.

• Conduct in-process inspections and coordinate with QC/QA for rejection control and rework minimization.





• Maintain production records, daily reports, and downtime/rejection logs.

• Train, guide, and manage shop-floor workers/operators; ensure discipline and productivity.

• Coordinate with the maintenance team for machine breakdown and preventive maintenance.

• Implement 5S, safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives on the floor.

• Ensure optimal utilization of raw material (SS sheets/coils) and minimize wastage.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–6 years of supervisory experience in sheet metal fabrication.

• Prior experience in the beverage/food processing industry (SS tanks, vessels, cans, or processing equipment) is highly preferred.

• Good understanding of sheet metal processes: laser cutting, bending, welding (TIG/MIG), polishing/buffing.

• Familiarity with stainless steel grades (SS 304, 316, etc.) commonly used in beverage/food applications.

• Basic knowledge of quality standards/hygiene requirements for food & beverage grade equipment.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, production reporting).

• Good communication skills in Tamil / Hindi / English.
