CNC / VMC Setter ProgrammerJob Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CNC & VMC Setter Programmer to set up, program, and operate CNC and Vertical Machining Centres (VMC) to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency in production.

- Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T; specifications
- Set up and operate CNC/VMC machines (Fanuc )
- Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs (manual programming and/or CAM software such as Delcam, NX, PowerMill)
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut)
- Perform tool offsets, work offsets, and zero setting
- Conduct first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, CMM/VMM)
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine alarms, program errors, and dimensional deviations
- Optimize cycle time while maintaining quality standards
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Maintain production records, quality reports, and documentation
- Coordinate with production, quality, and design teams for smooth workflow
- Train and guide machine operators as required




- Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of CNC/VMC programming (G-codes, M-codes)
- Hands-on experience with CAM software (Delcam/NX/Creo preferred)
- Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T;
- Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining parameters
- Understanding of jigs, fixtures, and workholding methods
- Familiarity with quality tools (CMM, surface plate inspection)
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems)
- QualificationsDiploma / ITI in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in CNC/VMC setting and programming (adjust based on seniority)
- Preferred CertificationsCNC Programming certification
- ITI Fitter/Machinist trade certificate
