Job Description – Event Manager
Location: K.R. Mangalam University
Experience: 4–8 years
Reporting To: Dean Student Welfare / Director – Student Engagement
Job Purpose
We are looking for an energetic and creative Event Manager to build student communities, manage student-led clubs, organise university events, generate sponsorships and promote events through social media.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage student communities, clubs and societies across music, dance, sports, entrepreneurship, gaming, culture, technology, etc.
Develop and manage student leaders, volunteers and ambassadors to increase participation in university activities.
Conceptualise and execute cultural, entertainment, academic, sports and inter-university events .
Take complete ownership of events from planning to execution and post-event activities .
Identify and secure event sponsorships and brand partnerships .
Prepare sponsorship proposals, approach potential sponsors and negotiate commercial arrangements.
Coordinate with vendors for stage, sound, lighting, LED, tentage, décor, branding, photography, videography, security, catering, etc.
Obtain quotations, negotiate with vendors and ensure events are delivered within budget and on time .
Develop and execute social-media campaigns for events, including Reels, Stories, teasers, countdowns, influencer/student promotions and post-event content.
Coordinate with the Digital Marketing, Creative,



Photography and Video teams to maximise event reach and engagement .
Build relationships with other colleges, student communities, influencers and youth organisations to increase external participation.
Prepare post-event reports covering attendance, social-media reach, sponsorship, expenditure and student feedback .

Number of successful events organised
Sponsorship revenue generated
Events delivered within approved budget
Social-media reach and engagement generated from events

Ideal Candidate
4–8 years of experience in event management, student engagement, experiential marketing or youth marketing
Strong student/community-building and networking skills
Proven experience in sponsorship acquisition and vendor management
Robust understanding of Instagram, Reels, social-media campaigns and influencer marketing
Excellent communication, negotiation and execution skills
Highly energetic, creative and comfortable working with students and large events
Willing to work evenings/weekends when required for events
Key requirement: We are looking for someone who can build the student community, bring sponsors, execute the event and create social-media buzz around it—not merely coordinate vendors.
