ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT - INVESTMENT BANKING (DEBT) Location: Bangalore / Mumbai

ABOUT THE FIRM
A specialist investment bank arranging equity and debt capital for companies across
financial services, agriculture, education, healthcare, renewable energy and women's
empowerment. A team of 30-plus finance professionals in India with international
representation. The firm works with businesses seeking growth capital and with investors
seeking social, environmental and financial returns.
THE ROLE
You will work directly with Vice Presidents and senior management across the full
transaction lifecycle - origination, structuring, execution and closing - and build
relationships with investors and industry experts.
The work revolves primarily around DEBT transactions in impact sectors: financial
inclusion, affordable education, affordable healthcare, renewable energy, women
empowerment and waste management. Relationship strength on both the client side and the
investor side is central to the seat.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Raise and arrange capital, and place debt securities with investors
- Work across assignments from ideation and initial client pitches through to closing,
alongside other strategic advisory work
- Independently manage debt deal execution: investor reachout and pitches, negotiation of
terms, coordination with lawyers, valuers and due-diligence agencies, finalisation of
definitive documents and closing
- Communicate regulatory and financial information and complex strategic issues clearly
to guide transaction structuring
- Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale lenders - banks, NBFCs and foreign
lenders




- Market the firm's services to internal partners and external clients, build client
networks across sectors and support client acquisition
- Manage the corporate database and deliver to defined timelines
- Mentor and develop junior team members
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 6-10 years at an investment bank, boutique M&A; house or private equity advisory firm,
with solid business development, deal pitching and deal execution experience across
transaction types
- Demonstrated ownership of day-to-day client relationships and transactions
- Superior financial modelling with a strong grounding in accounting and business
valuation, including comparable company and comparable transaction analysis and DCF
- Strong research and business or financial analysis skills
- Experience with, or networks into, the Indian venture capital and private equity
ecosystem
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint; exceptional written and verbal communication
- Ability to multi-task and work independently alongside strong team skills
PREFERRED, NOT REQUIRED
- MBA with a Finance or Economics major, or an equivalent degree, or CFA, or CA
- Knowledge of the social investment space
