Role & responsibilities

Radiographic Inspection & Quality Assurance

- Perform X-Ray/Radiographic inspection of castings, weldments and critical engineering

components.

- Interpret radiographic images and identify internal discontinuities such as porosity,

shrinkage, inclusions, cracks and lack of fusion.

- Evaluate components as per applicable standards, specifications requirement.
- Ensure compliance with radiographic inspection procedures and quality control plans.

Process Improvement & Development

- Optimize machine radiography parameters to achieve reliable defect detection.
- Support development and validation of radiographic techniques for new products and

materials.

- Conduct image quality studies and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in defect analysis and root cause investigation.
- Coordinate with Casting & engineering teams for defect feedback & reporting.

Equipment Management

- Ensure proper operation, calibration and preventive maintenance of radiography

equipment.

- Monitor detector performance, image quality indicators and system health.
- Maintain inspection records,



reports and traceability documentation.

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

- Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Monitor radiation exposure controls and safety interlocks.
- Promote secure work practices and continual improvement in radiation protection systems.

Preferred candidate profile

- Thorough knowledge of Industrial Radiography (X-Ray / Digital Radiography).
- Knowledge of NDT standards such as ASTM, ASME, ISO, EN and customer-specific

requirements.

- Expertise in radiographic image interpretation and defect characterization.
- Knowledge of casting, forging and welding processes and associated defects.
- Understanding of radiation physics, image formation and detector systems.
- Experience in digital radiography software and image analysis tools.
- Ability to prepare inspection procedures, work instructions and reports.
- Knowledge of calibration, validation and periodic performance checks of radiography

systems.
