Role & responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Business Development
* Develop and implement business strategies to achieve organizational goals.
* Identify new business opportunities, tenders, and projects.
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and government authorities.
* Support contract negotiations and project acquisitions.
2. Project Management Oversight
* Monitor all ongoing construction projects to ensure timely completion.
* Ensure projects are delivered within budget and quality standards.
* Review project schedules, progress reports, and resource allocation.
* Resolve critical project issues and risks.
3. Financial Management
* Prepare and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
* Control project costs and overhead expenses.
* Review cash flow, profitability, and financial performance.
* Approve major expenditures and procurement decisions.
4. Operations Management
* Oversee day-to-day construction operations.
* Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.
* Improve operational efficiency and productivity.
* Coordinate between various departments such as Projects, Procurement, HR, and Finance.
5. Contract and Commercial Management
* Review project contracts and ensure compliance.
* Monitor claims, variations, and dispute resolution.
* Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships.
* Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
6. Quality Assurance and Compliance
* Ensure compliance with construction standards and specifications.
* Implement quality management systems.
* Conduct periodic reviews and audits of project quality.
* Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.
7. Health, Safety, and Setting (HSE)
* Promote a strong safety culture across all sites.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
* Monitor accident prevention measures and safety performance.
* Review incident reports and implement corrective actions.
8. Leadership and Team Management
* Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, and department heads.
* Set performance objectives and evaluate team performance.
* Develop succession planning and employee development programs.
* Foster teamwork and a positive work environment.
9. Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders.
* Attend client meetings and project review meetings.
* Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and government agencies.
* Handle escalations and critical concerns.
10. Risk Management
* Identify business and project risks.
* Develop mitigation strategies.
* Monitor legal, contractual, financial, and operational risks.
* Ensure business continuity and contingency planning.
