Teradata Database Engineer

Hybrid (3days WFO & 2days WFH)

Bengaluru/Hyderabad

Exp: 7-10 years

Primary Skillset: Teradata Database Engineer, with exposure to cloud, Unix & shell scripting.

In this role, you will:

Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area

Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks

Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution

Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards

Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

Required Qualifications:

Experience in Systems Engineering, and Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Planning release windows and cycles across portfolios, components

Communicating crucial release plans and changes to business teams

Coordinating processes between different teams (possibly in various locations)

Producing deployment, implementation, and run books plans

Conducting release readiness and milestone reviews

Maintaining release schedules for core systems and ensuring it aligns with major vendors and other stakeholders





Developing automation and release management tools along with scripts necessary for the construction, continuous integration, and deployment of software release

Researching new software development and the best methods and techniques for managing configurations regarding a businesss existing needs

Use troubleshooting skills and work closely with operations, support, engineering and other functions.

Manage stakeholders and collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams that are geographically dispersed.

Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as required at direction of management.

Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area.

Displays initiative, exhibits flexibility and adaptability.

Job Expectations:

7+ years of industry experience in software infrastructure management & configuration management

7+ years of experience in using project or release management tool

Excellent knowledge and experience working with various DB platforms (SQL/Teradata/Oracle/Exadata)

Familiar working on a heterogenous database structure or an enterprise data warehouse

Valuable understanding of software development lifecycle

Monitoring, alerting and dashboard solution expertise along with batch support experience

Should have good understanding of Share Point, JIRA, ServiceNow, Change / Release management and build/deploy.

Good to have Agile and SRE experience

Understanding of data center operations (Production operations, Server, Storage, Network, System Management and DR practices)

Candidate can demonstrate that they have the self-learning capability to ramp up quickly without a lot of instruction, training, or hand-holding.

Experience in coordinating cross-functional work teams up to task completion
