Job Title: Medical Coder - Pain ManagementDepartment: Coding OperationsReports To: Coding Supervisor / Manager (Pain Management)Location: Remote / Office Based (as applicable)

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced Medical Coders with expertise in Pain Management coding to support a growing client portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding, pain management procedures, injections, and related physical therapy services. The coder will be responsible for accurate coding, compliance adherence, and maintaining coding quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Review and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for professional medical services.

Code office-based Evaluation & Management (E/M) visits in accordance with current coding guidelines.

Accurately code pain management procedures, including injections and interventional services.

Review and code physical therapy and rehabilitation services as applicable.

Ensure compliance with payer-specific guidelines, CMS regulations, and coding standards.

Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks established by the organization.





Identify coding discrepancies and communicate with internal teams for clarification when necessary.

Participate in coding audits and educational initiatives.

Stay current with coding updates, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of Medical Coding experience.

Solid experience in:

Pain Management coding

E/M Office Visit coding

Injection and procedure coding

Physical Therapy coding

Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

Knowledge of payer guidelines and reimbursement methodologies.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to coding accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification from AAPC preferred.

Additional certifications such as CCS, CPMA, or specialty certifications are an advantage.

Experience working with US healthcare providers and physician practices.

Familiarity with EHR and practice management systems.
