Role: Lead - Risk Management (Commodity)

Location: Mumbai

What you will do:

Responsible for monitoring and managing commodity market risks, ensuring compliance with exchange and regulatory guidelines, minimizing financial exposure, and supporting business growth through effective risk controls.

- Monitor client positions, margins, MTM (Mark-to-Market), and exposure across commodity segments.
- Perform real-time risk monitoring and take timely actions to mitigate losses.
- Ensure compliance with exchange (MCX/NCDEX) and regulatory (SEBI) guidelines.
- Monitor margin shortages and initiate RMS actions, including square-offs where required.
- Identify abnormal trading patterns and escalate potential risk events.
- Coordinate with dealing, operations, compliance, and technology teams for smooth risk management.
- Prepare daily MIS, exposure reports, risk dashboards, and management reports.
- Review SPAN, Exposure Margin, ELM, and exchange circulars for implementation.
- Support product launches by defining appropriate risk controls.
- Handle exchange-related contingencies and ensure business continuity during market disruptions.




- Recommend process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in risk policy reviews and implement internal control measures.
- Timely monitoring of risk exposures.
- Reduction in margin shortfall and bad debt cases.
- Compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Accuracy of risk reports and MIS.
- Timely execution of RMS actions.
- Successful implementation of risk controls and process improvements.

Who you are:

- Strong understanding of commodity markets (MCX/NCDEX).
- Knowledge of Futures & Options, SPAN Margin, MTM, VAR, and Exposure Management.
- Familiarity with SEBI and exchange regulations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel; SQL/Power BI is an added advantage.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, real-time trading environment

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field.
- MBA (Finance) or equivalent is preferred
- NISM Commodity Derivatives Certification is an advantage.
