Job Summary:
We are seeking a Merchant Risk & Fraud Analyst to support a critical risk-monitoring function within a payment gateway workplace. The role involves monitoring merchant activity, investigating risk alerts, identifying potential fraud indicators, and assessing exposure to financial loss.

Objective of the Role:

The objective is not simply to close alerts, but to investigate merchant activity, assess potential risks, and take appropriate action to prevent financial exposure and loss.

Key Responsibilities:

- Investigate alerts related to:




- High-value or unusual transactions
- High chargeback / decline rates
- Negative merchant balances
- Sudden changes in transaction behaviour
- Unusual transaction patterns
- Potential fraud or financial risk indicators
- Merchant behaviour that may indicate financial instability

- Conduct transaction analysis and merchant risk reviews.
- Monitor merchant accounts and transaction activity to identify emerging risks.
- Perform fraud investigations and assess suspicious activity.
- Review merchant profiles and conduct KYC / Merchant Due Diligence checks.
- Evaluate risk exposure and recommend appropriate actions.
- Document findings and maintain accurate investigation records.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to mitigate fraud and financial risks.
