Role & responsibilities

To supervise and execute day-to-day process plant operations safely and efficiently, ensuring production targets, product quality, process parameters, equipment availability, and EHS requirements are consistently achieved.

- Supervise day-to-day plant operations and ensure smooth and uninterrupted production.
- Execute production plans as per approved process procedures, SOPs, and batch requirements.
- Monitor and control critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, level, pH, reaction time, and other applicable parameters.
- Ensure correct charging, mixing, blending, heating, cooling, filtration, transfer, and other process operations as applicable.
- Ensure proper utilization of raw materials, chemicals, utilities, manpower, and equipment.
- Monitor production output, yield, process losses, cycle time, and equipment performance.
- Identify process deviations and take immediate corrective action in coordination with the Production Manager and relevant departments.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control/Quality Assurance team for sampling, testing, and resolution of quality-related issues.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance/Engineering team for preventive maintenance, breakdowns, equipment troubleshooting, and plant reliability.
- Ensure proper shift handover and maintain accurate shift reports, production records, logbooks, and process documentation.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities are carried out strictly according to SOPs, work instructions, and approved process parameters.
- Supervise operators, technicians, and contract manpower and ensure effective manpower deployment.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices in the process plant.
- Monitor equipment such as reactors, agitators, pumps, filters, pipelines, tanks, compressors, utilities, and other process equipment.
- Report abnormal conditions such as leakage, unusual vibration, temperature/pressure variation, equipment failure, or process deviation immediately.




- Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities for process and production issues.
- Support process improvement initiatives to improve productivity, yield, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Minimize process losses, downtime, material wastage, and unnecessary utility consumption.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transfer of chemicals and raw materials as per safety procedures and MSDS/SDS requirements.
- Strictly follow PPE, permit-to-work, LOTO, fire safety, emergency response, and other applicable EHS procedures.
- Report near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, spills, and incidents immediately.
- Participate in safety inspections, risk assessments, emergency drills, audits, and other EHS activities.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of process waste as per company procedures and applicable environmental requirements.
- Support internal, customer, ISO, statutory, and other plant audits.
- Provide training and guidance to operators regarding SOPs, process safety, equipment operation, and housekeeping.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Manager / Plant Head.

Preferred candidate profile

- Diploma / B.Sc. in Chemical.
- Relevant experience in a chemical/process manufacturing plant.

Preferred:

- Knowledge of chemical process operations, batch processing, reactors, pumps, filtration, mixing/blending, heating and cooling systems.
- Knowledge of SOPs, MSDS/SDS, EHS requirements, and process safety.
- Basic knowledge of PFD/P&ID; and process equipment.
- Knowledge of ISO systems and 5S will be an advantage.

Experience Recommended:

23 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing, process plant, specialty chemicals, or related industry.

Candidates with hands-on experience in batch process operations, chemical handling, production supervision, and process troubleshooting will be preferred. Industry job descriptions commonly emphasize process-parameter control, equipment troubleshooting, safety compliance, production documentation, and coordination with maintenance and quality teams.
