Purpose/Objective

Purpose of Position The Site Head - Coal Block shall be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and statutory compliance of Underground (UG) and Opencast (OCP) coal mining operations at Gare Palma IV/8 Coal Mine.
The incumbent shall ensure safe, sustainable, cost-effective, and productive mining operations while achieving production targets in compliance with the Mines Act, Coal Mines Regulations (CMR) 2017, DGMS guidelines, environmental regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all statutory provisions under the Mines Act, CMR 2017, DGMS guidelines, environmental clearances, and other applicable regulations.
Drive mine development and production activities to achieve approved business plans and production targets.
Prepare and monitor long-term and short-term mine plans in coordination with Survey, Geology, and Planning teams.
Lead and oversee drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, transportation, and coal evacuation activities.
Ensure optimum utilization and availability of mining equipment and infrastructure.
Establish and maintain world-class health, safety,



and environmental standards across mining operations.
Monitor and control mining costs, including excavation, loading, transportation, drilling, blasting, and consumables.
Manage mining contracts and ensure contractor performance as per contractual commitments.
Develop and implement productivity improvement and cost optimization initiatives.
Coordinate with procurement, maintenance, finance, HR, and other support functions for smooth mine operations.
Build a high-performance culture through employee development, succession planning, coaching, and training initiatives.
Represent the organization before statutory authorities, regulatory agencies, local administration, and external

Technical Competencies

Implement Training Programs,Managing Course Delivery and implementation,Strong understanding of Coal Mines Regulations

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university.
First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (Unrestricted Coal).
Experience: At least 15 Years’ experience in Underground Coal Mines
