Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain Python applications and backed services.
- Develop and integrate AI/ML features into business applications and workflows.
- Build, evaluate, deploy, and monitor machine learning models.
- Prepare, clean, transform, and analyses structured and unstructured data.
- Integrate generative AI, large language models, and third-party AI services where appropriate.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and external services.
- Connect contemporary applications and AI solutions with legacy and ERP systems.
- Analyse existing systems, business processes, and data flows.
- Support the modernization and migration of legacy applications.
- Develop and maintain applications and services hosted on Microsoft Azure.
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, tested, and well-documented code.
- Investigate technical issues and implement reliable, long-term solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, business users, and other stakeholders.
- Support application deployment, monitoring, security, and performance improvement.

Essential Skills and Experience

- 3-5 years of professional software development experience using Python.
- Strong knowledge of Python fundamentals, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
- Practical experience with AI or machine learning projects.
- Experience using common data and ML libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Understanding of the ML lifecycle, including data preparation, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Ability to select suitable models and evaluate them using appropriate performance metrics.
- Experience with at least one Python web framework, such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Practical experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based deployments.
- Knowledge of legacy applications, ERP systems,



and system integration.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience using Git, automated testing, and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

- Experience with Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI Service, or related Azure technologies.
- Experience building generative AI applications using large language models.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, embedding, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Understanding of responsible AI, data privacy, model security, and output evaluation.
- Experience deploying and monitoring models in production environments.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, model versioning, and automated ML pipelines.
- Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, or Azure SQL.
- Familiarity with Docker, containerized applications, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience integrating enterprise or ERP platforms through APIs, databases, files, or messaging systems.
- Understanding of legacy-system modernisation and data-migration practices.
- Experience with background jobs, message queues, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of application logging, monitoring, and observability.
