Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the complete procurement function for hydraulic cylinder manufacturing operations.
- Source and procure raw materials such as seamless tubes, honed tubes, chrome-plated rods, seals, forgings, castings, hydraulic fittings, ductile bars, fasteners, and other engineering and machined components.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and develop suppliers for critical materials and outsourced manufacturing services.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent supply and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing agreements, payment terms, and annual contracts with suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and supply chain risks to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Stores, Quality, Engineering, and NPD teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives related to quality, cost, and delivery.
- Develop alternate sources and localization opportunities for critical components and imported materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock availability while minimizing inventory carrying costs.
- Ensure timely release and tracking of Purchase Orders through ERP systems.
- Review supplier quotations, conduct cost analysis,



and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare procurement MIS reports, spend analysis reports, and supplier performance metrics.
- Support internal, external, and customer audits related to procurement activities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing procurement efficiency and supply chain performance.

Preferred Skills

- Robust knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes in engineering/manufacturing industries.
- Experience in sourcing steel, machined components, fabrication items, hydraulic seals, and outsourced services.
- Proven expertise in vendor development, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
- Good understanding of inventory management, cost optimization, and supply planning.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and MS Excel.
- Ability to perform cost analysis, quotation evaluation, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and supplier quality management.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Purchase price variance monitoring
- Candidate from hydraulic cylinder or Heavy Engineering industry are highly preferred
