9837 : Principal Architect

Department: Technology Information Innovation Products

Reports to: Lead Innovation Products

Role Purpose

The Principal Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and driving the end-to-end architecture

strategy for Innovation Products. The role ensures delivery of scalable, secure, reliable, and

highperformance software solutions, aligned with business goals and long-term technology

roadmaps, while providing architectural leadership across multiple teams and initiatives.

Education Experience

BE / BTech / ME / MTech (or equivalent) in Computer Science / EC / ENTC / ME / CE

12+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture roles

ITIL certification preferred

Proven experience working on large scale, enterprise or multi product systems

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Strategy Design

Define and own solution and enterprise architecture blueprints, including application, integration,

data, and deployment architectures.

Drive technology stack selection, architectural standards, and design patterns for Innovation

Products.

Ensure architectural consistency and alignment across platforms, products, and delivery teams.

Solution Ownership Feasibility

Translate complex business and product requirements into robust, future ready technical

architectures.

Evaluate feasibility through requirements analysis, system impact assessment, and process

evaluation.

Act as the architectural authority for technical decisions, design tradeoffs, and solution direction.

Engineering Excellence

Establish and govern software development best practices, including secure design, scalability,

performance optimization, and maintainability.

INTERNAL

Guide teams to building reliable, effective, and scalable software solutions.

Conduct architecture reviews, technical audits, and risk assessments to ensure quality and

compliance.





Technology Evaluation Innovation

Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, platforms, and frameworks for enterprise adoption.

Drive modernization and continuous improvement through adoption of relevant and future proof

architectural approaches.

Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance standards.

Mentoring Technical Leadership

Mentor and guide architects, senior engineers, and technical leads across Innovation Products.

Coordinate technical work across teams, resolve complex architectural challenges, and ensure timely

delivery.

Support capability building through architectural guidance and technical coaching.

Documentation Communication

Ensure creation and maintenance of high quality architecture and technical documentation,

including:

Architecture diagrams and design blueprints

Flowcharts and technical specifications

Technical decision records

Clear, maintainable code documentation

Communicate architectural vision and decisions effectively to technical and business stakeholders.

Key Skills Competencies

Strong expertise in software architecture and system design

Ability to propose, evaluate, and justify technical solutions

Experience designing scalable, distributed, enterprise grade applications

Strong understanding of secure coding practices and system security

Database architecture and performance optimization experience

Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and performance management

Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

Proven mentoring and leadership capability at senior technical levels
