Solidus Techno Power Company is engaged in the design, engineering, and execution of solar power solutions. We are looking for a skilled Rooftop Solar Designer to join our engineering team and support the design and layout of rooftop solar PV systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Job Description

The Rooftop Designer will be responsible for preparing accurate rooftop solar system designs, layouts, and technical drawings, ensuring designs comply with engineering standards, site conditions, and client requirements. The role requires close coordination with the sales, project execution, and site survey teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare rooftop solar PV system layouts and single-line diagrams (SLDs) using design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVsyst, etc.)
- Conduct site assessments / review site survey data to finalize optimal panel placement and system sizing
- Design module mounting structures (MMS) layout as per rooftop type (RCC, tin/metal sheet, industrial shed)
- Perform shadow analysis and energy yield estimation for proposed rooftop installations
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM) based on finalized designs
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and DISCOM/utility guidelines




- Coordinate with the sales team to provide technical inputs during the proposal and quotation stage
- Support the project execution team with technical drawings and design clarifications during installation
- Prepare as-built drawings and documentation upon project completion
- Stay updated on the latest rooftop solar design tools, technologies, and industry best practices

Desired Candidate Profile

- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in rooftop solar system design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory; working knowledge of PVsyst, SketchUp, or similar solar design tools preferred
- Sound understanding of solar PV components modules, inverters, mounting structures, and BOS (balance of system)
- Familiarity with rooftop structural design considerations and load calculations
- Basic knowledge of electrical design principles, cable sizing, and protection systems
- Solid analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in drawings
- Good communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and clients
- Willingness to travel for site visits between Patiala and Noida locations as required
