Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Tool Room to lead tool room operations for plastic injection molding. The role will be responsible for mould development, maintenance, tool room management, process improvement, vendor development and timely delivery of moulds to support production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the complete Tool Room operations for plastic injection molding.
- Plan and execute new mould development, mould trials, modifications and corrections.
- Manage preventive and breakdown maintenance of injection moulds and dies.
- Handle moulds for automotive and engineering plastic components, including complex multi-cavity moulds.
- Coordinate with Tool Design, Production, Quality, Engineering and Purchase teams.
- Review tool designs, DFM, mould flow analysis and manufacturing feasibility.
- Monitor mould trials, identify defects and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot moulding-related issues such as short shots, flash, warpage, sink marks, weld lines and dimensional variation.
- Develop and manage external tool makers and machining vendors.
- Monitor tool room cost, delivery, quality and productivity.
- Ensure availability of critical mould spares and maintain proper tool history.
- Implement TPM, preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage CNC, EDM, wire-cut, grinding, milling and conventional machining activities.




- Ensure proper documentation of mould maintenance, modifications and trial history.
- Lead and develop the Tool Room team, including tool makers, CNC operators and technicians.
- Drive improvements in mould life, cycle time, tool availability and maintenance cost.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and housekeeping standards.

- Establish tool room KPIs covering tool availability, breakdowns, maintenance cost, development lead time and first-time-right performance.
- Build robust relationships with external tool manufacturers and machining suppliers.
- Train and develop the tool room team in advanced mould-making and maintenance practices.
- Drive localization and cost-reduction initiatives for mould development and maintenance.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates from Automotive Plastics, Engineering Plastics, Plastic Injection Molding, Auto Components, Precision Tool & Die or Polymer Component Manufacturing industries will be preferred.
