About the Role
- The Site Technology Manager is the primary technology owner for an assigned office, major site, or small group of nearby sites.
- This role serves as the face of IT for local Operations leadership and is accountable for the overall health, readiness, resilience, and user experience of the sites technology workplace.
- This is not a ticket-queue management role. The Site Technology Manager is expected to think like an owner. If the site network is fragile, this role identifies the risk and drives a mitigation plan. If employee workstations are aging or unreliable, this role owns the lifecycle plan. If an outage disrupts the business, this role leads restoration, communicates clearly, and ensures the root cause is addressed.
- The successful candidate will be a broad technical generalist with strong operational judgment, business partnership skills, and the ability to lead through influence across centralized engineering teams, vendors, and local support resources.
- The role does not require deep engineering expertise in every technology tower, but it does require enough technical fluency to assess issues quickly, make sound decisions, and coordinate the right teams toward durable resolution.
-
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive IT operations, site technology, field support, infrastructure support, or enterprise technology experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience, including direct supervision, team lead responsibility, site technology ownership, vendor oversight, or matrixed leadership of cross-functional technical work.
- Demonstrated accountability for technology outcomes in a business-critical office, site, campus, contact center, manufacturing, logistics, retail, healthcare, or similarly uptime-sensitive operating environment.
- Broad working knowledge across endpoint support, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365,
Entra ID / Active Directory, networking fundamentals, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, endpoint security, ITSM practices, and asset lifecycle management.
- Experience leading or coordinating response to site-impacting incidents, including stakeholder communication, escalation management, restoration coordination, and post-incident follow-up.
- Experience identifying technology risks such as aging hardware, single points of failure, endpoint compliance gaps, network instability, or insufficient operational redundancy, then driving remediation through completion.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, non-technical site leaders, senior stakeholders, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently in a site-owner capacity, prioritize competing needs, make sound decisions under pressure, and follow through on commitments.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite at assigned locations and travel within the assigned site group as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Site IT Manager, Field IT Manager, Regional IT Operations, Technology Operations, or similar ownership role in a large multi-site organization.
- Experience managing or coordinating third-party vendors, contractors, managed service providers, or specialized engineering teams.
- Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, Tanium, or similar tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike Falcon, BitLocker,
or similar endpoint security and compliance tools.
- Experience building or using Power BI dashboards, ITSM reporting, KPI scorecards, or operational health reporting.
- Experience presenting technology risk, incident status, or operational performance to senior leadership.
- Familiarity with ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, root cause analysis, Agile, or other structured improvement methods.
- Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, PMP, CAPM, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Technical Scope
- The Site Technology Manager should be comfortable operating as a technical generalist across:
- Endpoint management, imaging, patching, hardware diagnostics, software deployment, and device lifecycle planning.
- Microsoft 365 administration, including Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, licensing, and user support.
- Identity and access administration across Entra ID, Active Directory, MFA, user provisioning, and security groups.
- Network troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, basic switching, routing fundamentals, and structured diagnostics.
- Endpoint security, encryption, compliance baselines, and security tool follow-up.
- IT service management practices, including incident, problem, change, asset, and knowledge management.
- Operational reporting, trend analysis, dashboards, and executive-ready site health update
