About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and well-presented Sous Chef specialising in International Vegetarian Cuisine to join a private residence in Ghatkopar, Mumbai.
The selected candidate will work alongside an existing kitchen team of two dedicated Indian cuisine chefs and will be responsible for leading the international vegetarian cuisine section. Prior expertise in Indian cuisine is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality vegetarian dishes across various international cuisines.
- Support the kitchen in daily food production and menu execution.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards.
- Efficiently manage kitchen operations during peak hours, private parties, and events.
- Coordinate with the existing kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Manage ingredients, stock, and kitchen inventory as required.
- Remain flexible with working hours to accommodate events and last-minute functions.
Candidate Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Sous Chef, preferably within a reputed hotel or similar professional kitchen setting.
- Strong expertise in International Vegetarian Cuisine.
- Indian cuisine knowledge is not mandatory, as the residence already has dedicated Indian cuisine chefs.
- Strong organisational and kitchen management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during events.
- Flexible and willing to work extended hours when required.
- Strong work ethic and a team-oriented approach.
- Presentable, well-groomed, and well-spoken.
Additional Requirement
The candidate should preferably reside within a 30-40-minute commuting distance from the residence in Ghatkopar.
