Role & responsibilities
- Implement Company Policy Statements and relevant requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with the IMS and remain updated on any relevant changes.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support the smooth and efficient operation of the business.
- Analyse client and internal data using Power BI, Excel, and other relevant tools to identify trends, discrepancies, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Monitor market price trends and support pricing analysis and benchmarking activities.
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate with external providers on Power BI dashboards and data visualisations.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and effective utilisation across the organisation.
- Present data analysis and insights clearly to Management and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Business Development team and Management in preparing client proposals and commercial analysis.
- Provide analytical support for ongoing projects and strategic initiatives.
- Support Finance and Purchasing teams in monitoring vessel financial performance, supplier benchmarking, and cost analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies through data analysis.
- Develop and monitor relevant KPIs and reporting metrics where required.
- Provide ad-hoc financial and data analysis to support Management decision making.
- Perform any other duties relevant to the role as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Controller, or Managing Director.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics,
Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI is essential.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and overall computer literacy.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
- Good understanding of financial analysis, reporting, and data interpretation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and manage competing priorities.
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in a Financial Data Analyst, Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, or similar role.
- Experience within the shipping or maritime industry would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with the maritime/shipping sector and vessel financial data would be beneficial.
- Experience with data modelling, KPI reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence tools.
- Experience supporting commercial proposals, pricing analysis, or supplier benchmarking would be an advantage.
