- Python & Microservices: Strong experience building, debugging, and maintaining multi-service Python architectures (using frameworks like FastAPI or Flask).
- Databases & Raw SQL: Solid foundation in relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL). Must be able to write complex SQL by hand, diagnose slow queries, set up proper indexing, and run database migrations safely without relying solely on ORMs.
- Async & Background Processing: Experience with background workers, job queues, and message brokers (e.g., Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ) for scheduled tasks and event-driven workflows.
- Complex Business Logic: Experience building state machines or rule-based workflows (e.g., tracking user consent, compliance rules, message retry cadences).
- Docker & CI/CD: Hands-on experience containerizing apps with Docker/Docker Compose for local testing and running automated deployments via GitLab CI/CD (or GitHub Actions).
- APIs & Integrations: Proven track record integrating third-party REST APIs and webhooks. Hands-on experience with telecom/SMS APIs (like Sinch or Twilio) is a strong plus.
- Basic Frontend: Comfortable writing standard HTML, CSS, and plain (vanilla) JavaScript for server-rendered internal pages when needed.
Responsibilities

- Full-lifecycle delivery: Comfortable touching all parts of the stack needed to ship a feature (database migrations, Python endpoints, Docker config, basic UI tweaks).
